How Garage List works

A plain directory of garages, MOT centres and tyre centres, so you can find one that does what you need and call them yourself.

Where the list comes from

Every MOT centre is an active test station on the DVSA register, which DVSA publishes every three months. The register gives each station's name, address, phone number and the classes of vehicle it is approved to test. We last checked it on 2 October 2026.

Ratings, reviews and opening hours on a garage's page come live from Google Maps when you open it. We don't keep copies of them.

Who is listed

Independent garages, specialists, tyre centres and the national fast-fit and tyre chains (marked as chains). We leave out franchised main dealers, council and fleet workshops, and bus and coach depots. Some names need a person to decide, so a garage can take a little while to appear.

MOT centres come from the DVSA register. Garages that don't do MOTs, and many tyre centres, come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL) or are added by the garage itself.

What "confirmed" means

We only state a service as fact when we can back it up: MOT from the DVSA register, or any service the garage has confirmed itself or that is recorded in OpenStreetMap. Anything else, like servicing at an MOT centre or tyres at a garage with "tyres" in its name, is shown as call to check.

For MOTs you can filter by what a garage is approved to test:

  • Cars (class 4) — tests cars
  • Vans (class 7) — tests vans up to 3.5t
  • Minibuses (class 5) — tests minibuses (13+ passenger seats)
  • Motorcycles (classes 1–2) — tests motorcycles
  • Three-wheelers (class 3) — tests three-wheelers

How garages are ordered

Nearest first. Garages can't pay to be listed higher. Some garages take online bookings through Garage Page, a service from the same company; they're marked Books online, and the mark doesn't change where they appear.

Corrections and removal

If a detail is wrong, or you run a listed garage and want it taken off, tell us here. Details come from DVSA's register, so it's worth telling DVSA too.
